ONLINE GRADING COURSE FOR JOISTS AND PLANKS

The majority of the Structural lumber produced in Canada is graded under Para 124 of the NLGA Rule - Joists & Planks.

Joists & Planks lumber is generally used on edge, but may be used in a vertical or horizontal application as well.

Structural dimension lumber is generally sold S4S to a certain size, kiln dried & heat treated to industry standards and then grade stamped to shows the grade, species and condition.

Canadian produced and grade stamped Joists & Planks lumber is accepted for use in Canada, the USA, Japan, Korea, the EU etc.

All commercial species groups in Canada including S-P-F, D Fir-L(N), Hem-Fir(N) or North Species may be graded under Joists & Planks.

Industry employees looking to advance their careers or would like to learn to grade dimension lumber, and people in general who would like to learn more about how structural lumber is graded, will want to take this course.

This Grade Course for Joists & Planks is taken from our On-Line Grading Course for Dimension Lumber and includes 3 of the Modules – Wood Structure, Joists & Planks 1, and Joists & Planks 2.

Each module will take approximately 3 hours to complete, homework is included but optional to complete.

There are no exams to take.
